I have a gp server with two workstations, on one of the workstations i can not open FRX 6.7 with a new accountant. When i double click it, nothing happens, if i rclick it and run is as the admin it works fine. The accountant says he got this error.
"The FRx Sysdata location is not valid. Make sure the Sysdata location in your FRxConfig.xml file (C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Local Settings\Application Data\FRx Software\FRx 6.7\FRxConfig.xml) is a valid path and that you have permission to read and modify files in the Sysdata folder."

RESOLUTION

Note Before you perform either resolution in this article,
verify the path of the Microsoft FRx 6.7 SysData folder.
To find the location of the SysData folder, follow these steps:
1. Click Start, click Search, and then click All Files and Folders.
2. Type SysData in the search window, and then click Search.
If multiple SysData folders are found, contact the system administrator to determine the correct SysData folder to use.

Now
To resolve this issue, correct the path that is listed in the FRx32.cfg file.
To do this, follow these steps:
1. Right-click the shortcut that you use to start Microsoft FRx Report Designer, and then click Properties.
2. Click the Shortcut tab.
3. Click Find Target. The FRx code folder opens.
4. Locate and then double-click the FRx32.cfg file.
5. If you are prompted to select a program to open the file, click Select the program from a list, and then click OK.
6. Click Notepad, click to clear the Always use the selected program to open this kind of file check box, and then click OK.
7. Modify the "Directory=" line in the [SYSDATA] section so that it points to the correct path of the SysData folder. Make sure that you include the backslash after SysData. For example, modify the line as follows:
Directory=C:\Program Files\FRx Software\FRx 6.7\SysData\
Note If the SysData folder is located on a network share, use the UNC path of the SysData folder. For example, use the following path:
Directory=\\FRxServer\SysData\
8. On the File menu, click Save, and then close the file.
9. If you have Microsoft FRx 6.7 with Service Pack 9 or a later version installed, verify that the path of the SysData folder that is listed in the FRxConfig.xml file is correct. To do this, follow these steps:
a. Click Start, and then click My Computer.
b. Locate the FRxConfig.xml file at one of the following locations, depending on your version of Windows:• For Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2000,
or Windows 2000:
C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Application Data\FRx Software\FRx 6.7\FRxConfig.xml
• For Windows Vista:
C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\FRx Software\FRx 6.7\FRxConfig.xml
Note Replace username with the Windows user name of the user who receives the error message.
c. Locate and then double-click the FRxConfig.xml file.
d. If you are prompted to select a program to open the file, click Select the program from a list, and then click OK.
e. Click Notepad, click to clear the Always use the selected program to open this kind of file check box, and then click OK.
f. Modify the path that is listed after each <sysdataPath> section to be the same path that you added to the FRx32.cfg file earlier in these steps.
g. Save the file, and then exit.
